THE ARTIST

Feiyu Wang, born in Yiwu, Zhejiang in 1998, graduated from the Photography Art Department of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 2021. His works focus on the relationship between personal emotions and the internal space of the family, and he is keen on experimenting and exploring different expressions and possibilities of photography, trying to integrate and display various media forms, and constantly exploring the boundaries of photography in the art context.

THE WORK

The popularity and development of new media such as AI, gaming, VR, and 3D modeling in recent years have led to a constant change in the way images are generated.

This set of works was initially influenced by German photographer Thomas Demand, but unlike Thomas, I did not use a traditional optical camera, but reconstructed the inanimate objects inside the house through computer 3D modeling. This visual effect, which is both real and fake, blurs the border between reality and unreality and aims to provoke the viewer to think about the authenticity of the images. It also makes us reflect on what possibilities can be generated between photography and reality, and whether images can be the basis for discussing the truth?
